I don’t know about you, but we are very excited about Disney’s “Planes,” an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure from the world of “Cars.” “Planes” features Dusty (voice of Dane Cook), a plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing—and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar.

To prepare you and the kiddos for the arrival of “Planes,” Disney is releasing some fun, printable activity pages for the kiddos!

Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program 2013 = Free Book

The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program is back for 2013. If you have a child in the 1st – 6th grade, have your child read any eight books and record them in the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Imagination’s Destination Reading Journal. After you have completed your journal, bring it to a Barnes & Noble store between May 21st and September 3, 2013. You can then choose a FREE reading adventure from the book list featured here.

New Iron Man 3 Clip Released #IronMan3

Disney has released a new clip of Marvel’s Iron Man 3 movie, which opens in theaters on May 3, 2013.

Description:

Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce & Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconicSuper Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968.

Disney/Pixar’s Finding Dory Swims into Theaters November 25, 2015 #FindingDory

Yay! This morning, Disney-Pixar announced that “Finding Dory,” the sequel to 2003′s Oscar-winning film “Finding Nemo,” will be swimming into theaters on November 25, 2015. “Finding Dory” takes place about a year after the first film, and features returning favorites Marlin, Nemo and the Tank Gang, among others. Set in part along the California coastline, the story also welcomes a host of new characters, including a few who will prove to be a very important part of Dory’s life.

Ellen DeGeneres, the famous voice behind Dory, will be back and has this to say about the new film:

“I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,” said DeGeneres. “I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’ But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.”

To celebrate the upcoming release of Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful on March 8, 2013, Disney and UNIT9 they have developed an awesome web experience. Find Your Way to Oz is an interactive journey which takes you through a dusty Kansas circus and leads you to a vibrant land, following in the footsteps of the Wizard himself.

I had a blast doing this with my kids. You can have fun with photo booth, compose your own music and even create your own movie with a zoetrope. The path to Oz also involves an ominous tornado and, once you survive it, you will get the opportunity to watch an exclusive, unreleased clip from the film. Go here to try it yourself!
