Pottery Barn Kids Summer Reading Challenge

 

Pottery Barn Kids is offering a Summer Reading Challenge. Now through 8/22, read all of the award-winning books on one of their recommended lists (there are two lists – one for younger and one for older kids!) and take your certificate of completion to your local store to get a FREE book! Don’t forget, every Tuesday from 11 am – 11:30am , Pottery Barn Kids hosts a book club. Kids of all ages are invited to attend this special story time. Members receive an official Book Club Passport at their first story time and a special gift after attending five sessions. Call you local Pottery Barn Kids store for more information.

 

Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse: 10 Shows for $5

This summer, Cinemark Theatres is bringing back their Summer Movie Clubhouse. Cinemark will have 10 weeks of fun films for kids for just $5.00 if purchased in advance. If you only want to go to a select number of movies, you can pay just $1 per show if you purchase your tickets at the box office. FREE Family Activities at Bass Pro Shops

Head to your local Bass Pro Shop this summer between June 4th through July 10th for FREE Family Activities. Find free crafts, workshops and activities every Tuesday & Thursday from 2-6pm and on Saturdays & Sundays from 12-4pm.

Apple Camp: Summer Filmmaker Camp

For those of you with older children, Apple Retail Stores will be holding Apple Camp this summer! This fun, free workshop allows kids between the ages of 8-12 to become filmmakers by learning the ins and outs of iMovie and how to make a film in about the time it takes to watch one. This three day workshop ends with an Apple Camp Film Festival where campers debut their masterpieces. Head over to Apple.com to sign up to be notified when camp registration is open.

Borders Summer Reading Program 2011 = FREE Book

Borders is joining in and offering a summer reading program of their own called the Double-Dog Dare Challenge. All kids 12 and under can participate. Here is what you need to do:

  • Read 10 books – any ones you like
  • List the books that you read on this form
  • Take the form to your local Borders and you use your coupon for a FREE book!

Form must be completed and brought into any Borders, Borders Express or Waldenbooks store 6/1/11 – 9/5/11 to redeem coupon. Valid in-store only.

Don’t forget, Barnes & Noble and TD Bank has their own summer reading programs which you can also participate in.

TD Bank’s Summer Reading Program

If you live near a TD Bank (these are mostly in the NE), they are offering their Summer Reading Program again this year. Here is what you need to do to participate:

  • Read 10 books this summer
  • Write down the names of all the books onto the Summer Reading Form
  • Print and take the form to your nearest TD bank to get $10 deposited into a new or existing Young Saver Account.

Valid May 4, 2011 through September 30, 2011. Bring form of ID for child for new account opening. One $10 offer per reader.

Regal Summer Movie Express 2011: $1 Summer Movies

This year, Regal Theaters will be participating in the Regal Summer Movie Express. During this 9-week festival, select Regal Cinemas, United Artists and Edwards Theatres will offer selected G or PG rated movies for only $1.00 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00am. Depending on your location, the festival starts in June or July. Go here to find a participating location near you and to see which movies your theater will be showing.
